"Sabr" is an Arabic term that is often translated as "patience", but is actually a far more complex and multifaceted concept that encompasses several other aspects.

In the context of Islam, Sabr refers to the believers unwaveringness, perserverance, steadfastness, and ability to remain patient & positive and in the face of adversity, hardships, injustice or trials while maintaining one's faith and good deeds. Being one of the essential virtues in Islam, it is mentioned numerous times in the Quran, for example:

"And be patient [have Sabr], for indeed, Allah does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good." (Hud 11:115)
